cPanel Backup Guide
Regular backups are essential to protect your website data. cPanel provides built-in backup tools.
Full Backup
- Log in to cPanel
- Go to Files → Backup
- Click Download a Full Account Backup
- Select destination (Home Directory)
- Enter notification email
- Click Generate Backup
- Download when ready
Partial Backups
Download individual components:
- Home Directory – All website files
- MySQL Databases – Individual database exports
- Email Forwarders – Forwarding configurations
- Email Filters – Filter rules
Restoring a Backup
Files
- Upload backup archive to File Manager
- Extract to
public_html
Database
- Open phpMyAdmin
- Select the database
- Click Import
- Choose the SQL backup file
- Click Go
