No. Domain transfers only change the registrar (where you manage the domain). Your DNS settings and website remain unaffected as long as you don't change nameservers.
Do I get extra registration time?
Yes! Domain transfers include a 1-year extension added to your current expiry date.
Can I transfer a recently registered domain?
No. ICANN requires domains to be at least 60 days old before transfer. Also, recently transferred domains must wait 60 days.
What if the transfer fails?
Common reasons for failure:
- Domain is locked
- Incorrect EPP code
- Domain expired or within 15 days of expiry
- WHOIS privacy blocking admin email
- Transfer not approved via email
